Reply To: Why do we apply paint on iron articles ?

Iron is metal that fastly react with environmental conditions . Rusting of iron is a kind of redox reactions. When iron come in contact with the environmental conditions Like air and water it reacts terribly and end up with iron rusting or corrosion.

Rusting is specific kind of corrosion which applies to iron-containing metals . Rusting has number of effects on iron including:-

1. It makes them weaker ,by replacing the strong iron or steel with flaky power.

2. It makes them look orange and rough.

It is a serious problem because it leads to corrosion in a very dangerous and a very expensive problems. Corrosion occurs if all the atoms on the same ore surface are decay than the full surface of metal is damaged.

Hence, to avoid rusting as well as corrosion we need to apply paint over iron surface . Painting remove their contact with environmental conditions.

Thank you!!
