Reply To: What are prime numbers, natural numbers, composite number and whole numbers?

Numbers are the basic unit of life. We can't imagine our life without numbers. It influences our daily routine. In fact, our whole life is dependent on these numbers. Dates, year, time, mobile number, money, etc.

There are different types of numbers that are basically important in one's life. Eg: Integer, whole numbers, natural numbers, rational numbers, etc.

On coming on to your question:

Prime Numbers: Prime numbers are the numbers that are divisible by 1 and themselves. In simple words, the prime numbers consist of those natural numbers which have exactly two factors and i.e. 1 and the number itself.

For eg:

2,3,5,7,11,13,17 etc.

All these numbers are divisible by 1 and the number itself.

Natural Numbers: All the positive numbers that are represented on the positive line of a number scale are called Natural Numbers. It doesn't include zero.

For eg:

1,2,3,4,5,6,....... infinity.

Composite Numbers: <strong style="font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit;">Composite numbers are those natural numbers that have more than two factors. Simply put, they are divisible by other numbers as well. Every non-prime number comes under the composite number.

For eg:

4,8,12,9,400 etc.

Whole Numbers: Natural Numbers including zero are called whole numbers.

For eg:

0,1,2,3,........ infinity.
