The generation of computers can be date back to 1930s . Before discussing about evolution of computers, we have to remember a great person , who made an impact on the world with the invention of modern computer. He is known as the father of the computer and he is none other than respected scientist Charles Babbage . May his soul rest in peace.
Some people considers abacus as the first version of computer since it was used to perform simple mathematical problems. The first full-sized digital computer in history was developed in 1944. Called the Mark I, this computer was used only for calculations and weighed five tons. The first generation of computers took place from 1940 to 1956 and was extremely large in size. The inner workings of the computers at that time were unsophisticated. These early machines required magnetic drums for memory and vacuum tubes that worked as switches and amplifiers. second generation of computing. Although first invented in 1947, transistors weren’t used considerably in computers until the cessation of the 1950s. They were a huge development over the vacuum tube, despite the fact still subjecting computers to destroying different levels of heat. Third generation involves the introduction of Integrated Chips. Fourth generation conputers introduced microprocessors which enabled input output rapid functioning.Current generation is included in the fifth generation and computers are changing day by day with novel inventions.
