Dr APJ Abdul Kalam was born in 1931 in Rameshwaram district in Tamilnadu. His real name is Abdul Fakher Jainulabdheen Abdul Kalam. He was from a poor tamil family. His father Jainulabdheen, wishes that his children must have good education. Kalam was famous in the field of missile technology, tamil linguistic, and tamil poet. And also wrote many science works like Wings of Fire, Inginted Minds, India 2020, Turning Point, My Journey etc. He completed his graduation and engineering in aeronautics from Madras Institute of Technology, the one of the top universities in India. He did his internship in NASA. He worked as Head of DRDO, Project Director of SLV 3 etc.
He was from a middle class muslim family. His father wishes that little Kalam will be a IAS officer after he completed his studies. He suffered a lot in his childhood. Because they are not financially stable. Kalam did many little jobs in his school time to pay his school fees. In his school time sometimes he went to his higher maths classes and sit there and to solve the problems. Then he moved to Thiruchi for his intermediate school and later to MIT in Madras. There he completed his graduation and later he realised that his field was in engineering so he joined to Aeronautical engineering.
He later got job in DTD&P (airforce) as project designer, rocket engineer in Indian Committee for Space Research and in ISRO Tumba rocket launche station. He completed his research in NASA about sounding of rockets. This helps our nation to bring the sounding technology in missiles and rockets. He also did his studies about rocket launcher. He is known as the’Missile man of India’.
He became the president of india in 2002. He received Bharat Ratna, Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan.
