Reply To: Is human blood ever any color other than red?

This is an interesting question. For over years, we are accustomed to seeing blood as red due to movies, etc. It has been recorded that people often tend to get surprised seeing their own blood. While some of us, find watching blood cringe at times. Its completely normal. Each one us responds to things differently.

Coming back to the color of blood, it is surprising to know that, yes blood does have color other than red.

In general, we see blood as red in color due to the presence of Hemoglobin in it. Hemoglobin is a respiratory pigment. In humans, this pigment is found to be red in color. But, at large scale, in case of animals, these pigments are often seen in colors other than red like green, blue, yellow and also purple in some cases.
