    RABINDRANATH TAGORE:

    Rabindranath Tagore was an illustrious poet from India. He was also an accomplished philosopher, patriot, painter, and humanist. This remarkable individual was born in Calcutta on May 7th, 1861. His early education was provided by a variety of teachers at home. He also gained knowledge in a variety of areas as a result of his schooling. His post-secondary studies were completed in England. Rabindranath Tagore, above all, began composing poetry at an early age.

    Rabindranath Tagore began writing plays at the age of sixteen. Rabindranath Tagore wrote the original theatrical composition Valmiki Pratibha at the age of twenty. Most notably, Rabindranath Tagore’s compositions are mostly concerned with sentiments rather than action. He penned another drama, Visarjan, in 1890.

    Rabindranath Tagore’s play Visarjan is arguably his greatest.

    Bhikarini was his debut short fiction. He is most known for being the creator of the Bengali short tale genre. Between 1891 and 1895, Tagore authored a lot of tales. Galpaguchchha has a collection of tales from this period. There are 84 tales in this book.

    Gitanjali is Rabindranath Tagore’s greatest collection of poetry. The Nobel Prize for Literature was awarded to Rabindranath Tagore in 1913 for his work Gitanjali. Manasi, Sonar Tori, and Balaka are some of his other notable poetry works.

    The term rabindrasangit is commonly used to refer to Tagore’s songs. His melodies are unmistakably influenced by Indian culture. Bangladesh’s national anthem is his renowned song Amar Shonar Bangla. Above all, he composed India’s national hymn, Jana Gana Mana.

    Rabindranath Tagore was a political figure. He backed Indian nationalists wholeheartedly. In addition, he was opposed to British control. His political ideas are expressed in his work Manast.

    He also composed some patriotic tunes. Rabindranath Tagore boosted support for India’s freedom. He composed various patriotic pieces. Such works were well-liked by the general public. These works were even praised by Mahatma Gandhi.

    The most notable example is Rabindranath Tagore’s resignation of his knighthood. In addition, he did so in protest of the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre.

    This magnificent son of India, a renowned bard, and lover of nature died in Kolkata on August 7, 1941, just a few years before India’s independence in 1947. He also wrote India’s national hymn, “Jana Gana Mana.” His creativity transformed everything he touched into gold and immortality.
