Jawaharlala Nehru is the first prime minister of independent India. He was a prominent freedom fighter and a visionary leader too. His relations with Gandhiji, the father of nation made him a famous figure during the freedom struggle of India. He was loved by children all over the nation and abroad. His affection , care and love towards children gave him a sweet name ‘ Chachaji ‘ . He stood against the policies of Britain aimed on looting Indian trade . He also made his place on satyagrahas against British corruption and torture towards Indians. He was born as the son of Swaroopa Rani and Motilal Nehru. He was born in an upper class family. But his visionary move towards joining in the freedom movement amidst the stiff opposition of the richer class made him a valuable figure who struggled for the freedom of India. After the independence , he was declared as the first prime minister of the country, Republic of India. He made policies aimed at improving agriculture and other basic infrastructures. His daughter Respected Indhira Gandhi is India’s first women prime minister. Her stern decisions on terrorist attacks and other policies made her the boldest of Indian prime ministers till now. November 14 is celebrated as Children’s day on the memory of late Hon’ PM Jawaharlal Nehru.
