Reply To: What do you understand by current?

Technically, Electric current can be defined as rate of flow of charge per second. In other words, it the flow of electrons in a conductor. Magnitude of electric current id defined by coulomb per second. The SI unit of electric current is Ampere (A).

Properties:

a) Electric current is result of flow of electrons.

b) Work done in moving the stream of electron flow is known as electric energy. The same energy is further converted to various other types of energy.

c) Electric current are further divided into two types: Alternating Current (AC) and Direct Current (DC).

d) It is conventionally believed that the flow of current in the positive direction.

Electric current is widely and practically used for everything in our day-to-day life. Fan, air conditioner, television, remote controls, fridge, etc., all work due to the constant flow of electric current.
