    The latest Education Policy was formulated in July 2020, which was given by the Modi government. After every few decades, a new education policy is furnished. This time, in 2020, PM Modi has claimed that this will bring a transformation in the lives of millions of Indians. It was approved by the Union Cabinet Of India. Feedbacks from around 2.5 lakh village-level stakeholders and two national parliamentary level committees were considered in formulating this kind of Education Policy.

    The Education Policy encourages local languages to be the medium of instruction for the students of up to at least Grade 5. It elevates bi-lingual education and textbooks for enhancing knowledge; as well as various languages at middle and secondary levels. The initial 10+2 structure is also improvised into the new 5+3+3+4 system. Students will now be given the liberty to choose the subjects they want to study and there will be no pressure of choosing the subjects now. In this new 5+3+3+4 structure, a solid base of Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) from age 3 is also incorporated. It concentrates on establishing learning levels at each significant position, taking a multi-disciplinary path, and lessening content by focusing on core learning competencies. New age subjects such as coding and computational thinking are also proposed at the middle school level. These subjects will be included in the syllabus from grade 6 onwards. Tests will not be conducted every year. They will be directed only in classes 3rd, 5th, and 8th class to test the understanding of the students. For the 10th and 12th board exams also, students will be given an option of whether to sit for the board exams or not. Schooling can now begin from the age of 3 years. Basically, the new Education Policy is all about enhancing the knowledge of their students and not just by giving them grades. These days grades do not matter as much as knowledge of the people.
