Reply To: How cyclones are formed?

Circulatory events in the lower part of the atmosphere are generally termed as cyclones. They originate over the warm Ocean waters of tropical and temperate regions. A cyclone occurs when a low pressure area is surrounded by high pressure. Thus, the winds blow at a very high speed towards the centre. These winds are destructive in nature which can blow at a velocity of 300 km per hour. These winds were accompanied by heavy rains. The movement and development of cyclones in India are observed and studied by the Indian Meteorological Department. It is a government agency which also involved sending information and warning messages through radio and television to alert airport, sea ports and fisherman.
