    National symbols of a country are the objects that furnish a unique identity to the country. Representatives are chosen in such a way that they depict a certain virtue that is peculiar in nature. The Republic of India has set various official national symbols which are historic in nature. India has many things to be proud about. Some major National symbols of India include Our national Flag, Our National Anthem, Our National Emblem. Some other national symbols are the National Bird, National Animal, National Tree, National flower, National fruit, National Calendar, and the National Game.

    The National Flag of India is a horizontal rectangular tricolor flag that consists of three equal strips- saffron on the top, white in the middle, and green at the bottom. There is a navy blue wheel with 24 spokes in the center of the white strip, named the Ashoka Chakra. The flag is based on the Swaraj flag that was designed by Pingali Venkayya.

    The National Anthem of India is “Jana Gana Mana”. It was written by Rabindranath Tagore. The first stanza of the song was taken from the Constituent Assembly of India.

    The Sarnath National Lion Capital is the National Emblem of India. It was declared as the National Emblem of India the day India became a republic. The motto inscribed below the abacus in the Devanagari script is “Satyamev Jayate” which means Truth Alone Triumphs. The quote was acquired from the Mundaka Upanishad that was the concluding part of the Hindu Vedas.

    Vande Mataram, the National Song of India was written by Bankim Chandra Chatterjee. The Bengal Tiger is designated as the National animal of India. Indian Peacock the National Bird of India. Nelumbo Nucifera, also known as Indian Lotus, also named as a water lily, is the National flower of India. The Shalivahana Shaka Calendar is the Indian National Calendar. The banyan tree is called the National tree of India. Mangifera Indica, also known as Mango is the National fruit of India. It is also introduced as the King of Fruits.
