Probability is a measure of the possibility of an event occurring. No events can be predicted with total certainty and there comes the role of probability. We can only predict the chance of an event to occur i.e. how likely they are to happen. Probability always ranges between 0 to 1, where 0 stands for the event to be an impossible one and 1 means a certain event.

For example, whenever we toss a coin, either we get Head Or Tail, only two possible outcomes are present (H, T). So the probability of (H,T) is 0.5 each.

Question:

If given two dices, what is the possibility of getting 6 on both dices?

Answer:

According to a question when we roll a single dice

Probability of getting 6 = 1/6 = 0.167

So in order to get two 6 when rolling two dice is

Probability = 1/6 × 1/6

= 1/36

= 0.0278
