Lahore December 1929 session purn Swaraj was demanded. On 31st Jan 1930 Gandhi ji wrote letter to sir Irwin the viceroy of india in 1920s, in which he gave the earth alternation that they want their all 11 demands fulfilled otherwise they will start civil disobedience movement. The most important demand was violation of salt tax because salt was a basic needs for all the people living in the country and heavy tax was imposed on salt and nobody in the country is allowed to do produce salt. That’s why civil disobedience movement was started. CDM was started by Gandhi ji by doing salt march. Gandhi ji was accompanied by his 78 trusted volunteer. He walked 240 miles the work started from Sabarmati Ashram and ended in Dandi. He walked for 24 days, thousands of people came to hear Gandhi ji whenever he stopped. He told about his concept of gaining Swaraj by the method of non violence. On 6th April 1930 he reached Dandi and violet salt law by making handful of salt. From here CDM officially started and started spreading in all over the country.
