Drosophila of the Plant Kingdom is Arabidopsis thaliana. It’s a dicot weed, a tiny angiosperm. It is utilised as a model organism for study in plant biology, genetics, and molecular biology because of its small size, fewer chromosomes, quicker growth, and self-fertilization. It is the first plant whose genome has been sequenced from start to finish. It’s also known as mouse-ear cress, wall cress, or thale cress. The short size of this plant’s genome is a significant advantage in genetic studies.
A large number of mutant variations have also been discovered. It stands between 20 and 25 centimetres tall. It is a member of the mustard family.
