Family is the base of all human beings. We do what we learn from our family. In the society, the family is divided into two joint and nuclear families based on the members and the type of relation.

Joint family is very common in the time of nineteenth centuries and the beginning of twentieth century. Later people are interested to live isolate with their family with husband wife and children. Joint family is the kind of family which all members are living under a roof. The members including grand parents, their children, daughter in laws, grand children, siblings of the grand parents may be their children and family etc. May be they have a common source for money like business or farming etc. They jointly maintain their businesses and earnings. In the joint family, the head of the family was mostly the elder male member. The female members needs to cook for the whole members of that family.

Joint family helps mainly for the children and grand parents. Children know how a good relationship occur, how to respect, etc. It means they are aware about the group of people and knows the behaviour. As a joint family, the parents are not able to take care of their children. So that the elder brother or sister in the children take care of their younger. So that they are being self independent. And the grand parents or the elder members can spend their last stage of their life with their beloved family.
