    In a world where cricket is not a national passion and a world where, either God or Satan, they both eat, sleep cricket and actually wear cricket with their hearts directly in their arms. Where the game takes the hot side, the 26-year-old from Jharkhand Lake has embarked on an instant national celebration after leading Team India to lift the 2011 World Cup.

    ‘Mahi’, as Mahendra Singh Dhoni is best known, was born on July 7, 1 981 to Pan Singh and Devaki Dev at Ranchi in Bihar (now Jharkhand). Dhoni’s parents had moved to Ranchi from Uttarakhand where his father works instead of junior administration in Mecon. He has a sister and a brother.

    Dhoni is a follower of Adam Gilchrist and his childhood portraits worked with Sachin Tendulkar, Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan and music queen Lata Mangeshkar.

    Dhoni attended DAV Jawahar Vidya Mandir School, Shyamali Ranchi where he began to excel in football and football, and was selected at regional and club level in the sport. In his soccer team, Dhoni was a goalkeeper and was sent to play for the local cricket team by his football coach.

    Later, in his two hundred years against Pakistan and the triangular tournament in Kenya, he proved himself as the destroyer of a bowling alley. Doni’s talent was recognized through the BCCI’s small town talent recognition program. He was spotted by PC Podar, Captain of Bangal in the 1960s, while Dhoni was playing for Jharkhand. Podar immediately sent a report to the National Cricket Academy.

    In his fifth round against Pakistan, Visakhapatnam, he struck out 148 spectacular, followed by a huge 183 unbeaten run in Jaipur against Sri Lanka and thus skipped the highest points by Adam Gilchrist. The innings had Doni’s six thumbs up, the most coming from India in the inning and the fifth highest in the ODIs.

    He and Mahela Jayawardene set a new world record in the sixth round of 218 wickets, during the 2007 Afro-Asia Cup. In 2012, he became the only ODI captain to beat the turn of the century hitting at number 7. He also became the fourth fast bowler to complete 8,000 runs in One-Day cricket in 2014.

    In the test matches again, he became a fast bowler, breaking with 148 in Faisalabad playing against Pakistan in his fifth test, in which India struggled to avoid the next. He was promoted to deputy captain of a one-day tour team in England and Ireland in 2007. In 2008, defeating Australia, under Dhoni’s rule, India registered the biggest victory by 320 runs. In 2009, Dhoni set a record for most catches by an Indian player in 320 inning.
