Vande Mataram is refered as the national song of India.Bankimchandra Chatterji composed The song Vande Mataram in Sanskrit. The song was a source of inspiration to many people including the freedom fighters in their freedom struggle. It has an equal status with Jana‐gana‐mana. On January 24, 1950, the President of India Dr. Rajendra Prasad made an official statement in the Constituent Assembly by mentioning that the song Vande Mataram played a significant role in the freedom struggle for Indian and we shall be honoured it equally with the song like our national anthem Jana Gana Mana and shall have equal status. The song was first sung on a political occasion of the Indian National Congress in the 1896 session. Bankimchandra’s one of the most famous novels, Anand Math (1882) also contains the song. This song came to be known as our national song for various reasons , few has mention below; The words of the song “Vande Mataram” were considered inciting by the British Government and were sought to be suppressed by violence and intimidation. On most of the time the freedom fighters when tortured by evil the words “Vande Mataram” came out from their mouth, which can be considered the power of it.The denotation of this word is “I praise thee, Mother” or “I praise thee, Mother”.The community of India never used the song as a challenge to any group or other community and never contemplated offending the sentiments of any community. The first two stanzas of the song used to spread to other religions and a certain national significance which began to attach to others. The rest of the song was infrequently used and known by few persons. These descriptions of the two stanzas come with a tender language: the beauty of the motherland and the profusion of her gifts. The working Committee of India considered the impact of the song. This song is not only a national song but also portrays national life.
