At standard room temperature and pressure (approximately 25 degrees Celsius or 77 degrees Fahrenheit), two elements have the potential to remain in a liquid state: mercury (Hg) and bromine (Br).
1. Mercury (Hg): Mercury is the only metal that remains in a liquid state at room temperature. It has a melting point of -38.83 degrees Celsius (-37.89 degrees Fahrenheit) and a boiling point of 356.7 degrees Celsius (674 degrees Fahrenheit). 2. Bromine (Br): Bromine is a halogen element that is a reddish-brown liquid at room temperature. It has a melting point of -7.2 degrees Celsius (19 degrees Fahrenheit) and a boiling point of 58.8 degrees Celsius (137.8 degrees Fahrenheit). Bromine is highly reactive and toxic, so it needs to be handled with caution. It is used in the production of flame retardants, pesticides, dyes, and pharmaceuticals.
