To answer this very intriguing question , I would like to quote a dialogue said by Robbin Williams who was acting as Sir John Keating from the famous movie Dead Poets Society released in the year 1989 , “And the human race is filled with passion. And medicine, law, business, engineering, these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for.”

According to me, ART matters. Whether it is mine or yours should not bother oneself. It is not necessary that everything we write or do is our own, we tend to inherit things and learn from them . It’s also sort of a healing procedure , finding peace in the littlest of things , remaining happy and writing poetry because that’s what we live for at the end of the day. ART and CRAFTS for those who love indulging themselves in it find freedom in it. Crafts and art are nothing but an escapeway to the unreal . In this world there are many types of arts and artists , some people write poetry as an art , some people make origami , some paint , some write music and some people perform . All around the world everyone has an artist within themselves , but some people embrace this art within them and some just ignore it .

ART is the only way of expressing our real self to the world . The question is HOW? Let’s take an example shall we ? you write a piece of music or draw something on a piece of paper , then you keep it somewhere else hidden . don’t look at it ! After a few days when you again open that piece of paper you will be able to understand your emotion back then , whether you were sad , happy , angry or heartbroken , because this is what art and craft is . It is like a mirror that reflects our inner conflict and problems . Nowadays people suffer a lot because of their problems. When they go and see a therapist , the therapist asks them to write out everything on a piece of paper , they ask the person to write whatever emotion they are feeling at that moment or any sense of despair they are going through ! Why do they say so ?

The answer is very simple , because writing that will help us calm down and the person is bound to feel light-hearted . any piece of writing is art and any piece of creativity is craft . These two together create a world full of expressions , emotions and feelings .

Therefore to end my reply I would say “CARPE DIEM” which can roughly be translated in English as “SEIZE THE DAY” to every creative mind out there .
