Given: Denominator is 5 greater than numerator. sum of numerator and denominator is 13

Solution: Let the numerator is x.

So, Denominator will be x + 5

According to question,

Numerator + Denominator= 13

x + (x + 5) = 13

2x + 5 = 13

2x = 13 - 5

2x = 8

x = 8/2

x = 4

Numerator is 4 and denominator is 9 i.e. (4 + 5).
