The Mughal emperor who commissioned the construction of the Jama Masjid in Delhi was Shah Jahan. He ruled from 1628 to 1658 and is also renowned for his contributions to Mughal architecture, including the construction of the Taj Mahal in Agra. The Jama Masjid, one of the largest mosques in India, was built between 1650 and 1656 during his reign and remains a prominent symbol of Mughal architectural grandeur.
