Making a woven bracelet is a fun and creative project! Here’s a simple guide to making one:

    Materials Needed:

    • Embroidery floss or thread in different colors (4-6 strands)
    • Scissors
    • Tape or a safety pin
    • A ruler or measuring tape

    Steps:1. Choose Your Colors

    • Pick 3-6 different colors of embroidery floss. The number of colors you choose will affect the pattern of your bracelet.

    2. Cut the Threads

    • Cut each piece of floss to about 24-30 inches long. You can adjust the length depending on the size of the wrist you’re making it for. You’ll want the strands to be longer than needed to allow for knots and braiding.

    3. Tie a Knot

    • Gather all the threads together and tie a knot at one end, leaving about 2-3 inches of loose thread at the end. This will be used to tie the bracelet on later.
    • Tape the knotted end to a flat surface like a table, or use a safety pin to attach it to a stable surface like a pillow or your jeans.

    4. Separate the Strands

    • Arrange the threads in the order you want the colors to appear in your bracelet.

    5. Start Weaving (Forward Knot)

    • Take the strand on the far left and lay it over the second strand, creating a “4” shape.
    • Pull the end of the first strand under the second strand and then up through the loop created.
    • Pull the knot tight, sliding it up to the top of the bracelet.
    • Repeat the knot on the same strand, so you make two knots on each strand.
    • Move to the next strand and repeat until the first strand has been knotted across all other strands.
    • Now, the strand you started with should be on the far right.

    6. Continue Weaving

    • Repeat the process with the new leftmost strand, knotting it across all the other strands until it reaches the right.
    • Keep repeating this pattern, always starting with the leftmost strand, until your bracelet is the desired length.

    7. Finish the Bracelet

    • When the bracelet is long enough to wrap around your wrist, tie a knot at the end of the woven section to secure it.
    • Leave a few inches of loose thread after the knot.

    8. Tie it On

    • Use the loose ends to tie the bracelet around your wrist. You can also add a bead or button to one end and make a loop at the other to create a clasp.

    9. Trim the Ends

    • Once it’s tied securely, trim any excess thread.

Now you have a handmade woven bracelet! You can experiment with different colors and patterns to make each bracelet unique.
