A spaceport is a facility designed for the launching and receiving of spacecraft. It serves as the equivalent of an airport but for space travel. Spaceports can include various structures and infrastructure, such as:

Launch Pads: Where rockets are launched.

Control Centers: To monitor and manage launches and landings.

Hangars: For storing and maintaining spacecraft.

Runways: For landing spacecraft that return to Earth, especially those that can land like airplanes.

Spaceports can support different types of missions, including satellite launches, crewed spaceflights, and scientific research. Notable examples include Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida and the Kennedy Space Center, as well as newer commercial spaceports like SpaceX’s launch facilities and Virgin Galactic’s Spaceport America.
