  There are three different states of matter, namely:

  1. Solids: A solid has a definite shape and a definite volume.

  Example: Wood, Stone, Ice etc.

  2. Liquids: A liquid has a definite volume but not a definite shape.

  Example: Water, Juice, Milk etc.

  3. Gases: A gas neither has a definite shape nor a definite volume.

  Example: Hydrogen, Oxygen, Water Vapour etc.
