    Lal Bahadur Shastri

    Lal Bahadur Shastri was the 2nd prime minister of independent India. He was famously known as for supporting White Revolution, national campaign for supplying milk. He was born on 2nd October, 1904 on Mughalsarai. He was one of the member of Gandhi’s non­cooperation movement for the British government. He was a great admirer of Mahatma Gandhi. During this movement he was arrested for a short time. After released from the prison he went to study in Kashi Vidyapeeth and graduated with the title ‘Sastri’. After graduation he was being affiliated with Mahatma Gandhi and Congress party. He was imprisoned several times after that. He was the true son mother India and believed on the policies of Gandhiji. After independence, Shastri become the home minister of Uttar Pradesh. He was became then union minister for railways and transport after being elected on 1952. His mediator skills influence people on many ways. Three years after Jawaharlal Nehru’s death he became the prime minister of India. He faced criticism for not to deal with India’s economic issues. But people of India shows thier love and respect for him variously. His policy “jai jawan jai kisan” , greatly admire by everyone.He was awarded ‘Bharat ratna” for his contribution and many memorials was built to honor him like ‘Vijay ghat” in Delhi.On 11 January, 1966 Shastri died by heart­attack on Tashkent . One day after singing a peace treaty for Indo­Pakistan war. His death created many miseries and many people believe that he had been killed.His death totally shaken the people of India.In his short time period as prime minster he did great work and greatly contribute for our countries development.

    Lal Bahadur Shastri is a well-known leader of the Indian revolution. In addition, he became India’s second prime minister. He also offered the renowned motto “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan.” Furthermore, he was born on October 2nd, which implies that two great leaders were born on that day.

    Lal Bahadur Shastri’s Life

    He was born into the Kayastha Hindu household. After his father died, he traveled to Allahabad to live with his grandparents (Prayagraj). He had always been a hardworking and honest youngster.

    He had a first-class education from Kashi Vidyapeeth. He was also given the title Shastri (Scholar) by the college. He is so moved by Gandhi Ji’s speech that he becomes a devoted disciple of him.

    Career in Politics

    Following independence, he was named secretary of parliament and minister of his native state. Following that, his political career undergoes several twists and turns.

    In addition, he served as a minister of state and in central government. He was also the congress committee’s general secretary.

    India’s Prime Minister

    Following the death of Jawahar Lal Nehru, the country needs a strong shoulder to bear the load of the prime ministership. As a result, the cabinet and top party leaders chose Lal Bahadur Shastri to be India’s second prime minister. During his tenure as Prime Minister, he has taken several significant moves in domestic, economic, and international policy.

    Furthermore, the Great Indo-Pak War occurred during his tenure as Prime Minister. Also, he coined the phrase “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan,” and after nuclear weapon testing, Atal Bihari Bajpayee added the phrase “Jai Vigyan” to Shastri Ji’s slogan.

    In 1966, the great leader and nobility died. However, several conspiracy theories are surrounding his demise. To summarise, Lal Bahadur Shastri was a wonderful leader, an excellent and hardworking worker, and above all, a superb prime minister who helped India accomplish numerous milestones during his tenure.
