Unlike municipal water supplied to households by municipal water pipelines from surface water sources such as lakes, ponds or rivers, water sources draw from groundwater sources. This type of water is known as “groundwater.”

    Groundwater

Groundwater is the water that flows naturally from underground to the surface in the form of springs. Some springs go underground completely and do not break up. Groundwater also includes water that contains various subterranean elements, such as silt, gravel, clay, and sand. The water collects underground in these winged structures into structures called aquifers. Normally, water collects from a spring in these water-bearing structures. Sources are found on Earth to reach the aquifer at a depth below the surface.
