Lal Bahadur Shastri was born on 2nd October, 1904 at Mughalsarai, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. He was the subsequent Prime Minister of Independent India and furthermore a head of the Indian National Congress Party. His mother’s name was Ramdulhari, and his Father was Sharada Prasad Srivastava. With time he became one of the faithful devotees of Gandhi.
After India got Independence, he turned into the Minister of Police and Transport in UP. But he served his duty of a very short period. He passed on at Tashkent when he was there for signing the peace treaty to stop the India-Pakistan war. After he passed on, he was granted the ‘Bharat Ratna.’
