World War I, also known as the Great War, First World War, WWI, the War to End All Wars, and the Great War. World War 1 was initiated on 28 June 1914. It began in 1914 and lasted till 1918. It began after the assignation of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria his murder was the reason of war all across Europe.
Why did the war start?
In spite of the fact that there were various reasons for the conflict, the death of Austrian Archduke Franz Ferdinand was the primary reason for beginning of the conflict. After the death, Austria announced conflict on Serbia. At that point Russia arranged to safeguard its partner Serbia. Then, Germany announced war on Russia to secure Austria. This made France announce battle on Germany to secure its partner Russia. Germany invaded Belgium to get to France which made Britain declare battle on Germany. This all occurred in only a couple of days. The differences over foreign policy between the major world powers was the underlying cause of the world war.
Between whom the world war was bought?
World war was fought between the Allied Powers and the Central powers. The members of the Allied Powers were Russia, Britain and France. After 1927 US also fought on the side of the Allies. And members of the Central Powers were Germany, Bulgaria and Ottoman Empire and Austria-Hungary.
Where was most of the fighting fought?
Most of the battling occurred in Europe along two fronts: the western front and the eastern front. The western front was a long queue of trenches that ran from the bank of Belgium to Switzerland. A ton of the battling along this front occurred in France and Belgium. The eastern front was between Germany, Austria-Hungary, and Bulgaria on one side and Russia and Romania on the other.
How did in end?
The battling finished on November 11, 1918 when an overall truce was agreed by both the sides. The was finished among Germany and the Allies with the marking and signing of the “Treaty of Versailles”.
