Oxygen can be produced in many ways, using a variety of methods. The most common natural method is photo-synthesis, in which plants use sunlight that converts carbon dioxide into the air into oxygen. This triggers the respiratory system, in which animals convert oxygen into the air and return carbon dioxide.

The most common commercial method of producing oxygen is air separation using the cryogenic distillation process or the vacoring jing adsorption process. Nitrogen and argon are also produced by the separation of air.

Oxygen can also be produced as a result of chemical reactions in which oxygen is extracted from chemicals and into gas. This method is used to produce a limited amount of oxygen to support life on submarines, aircraft, and space.

Hydrogen and oxygen can be formed by transferring electricity to water and collecting two gases as they come out. Hydrogen forms in a non-pollutant port and oxygen in a good port. This process is called electrolysis and produces the most complete hydrogen and oxygen. It uses a large amount of electrical energy, however, and does not save large volume production.
