The Industrial Revolution was a period of major technological advancements that transformed the way goods were produced and the way people lived. It began in Great Britain in the mid-18th century and spread to other parts of Europe and North America in the 19th century.

The Industrial Revolution was characterized by the development of new machines and processes that made it possible to produce goods much more quickly and efficiently than ever before. These machines included the spinning jenny, the power loom, and the steam engine. The steam engine was particularly important because it could be used to power factories, which allowed for even greater production.

The Industrial Revolution also led to the development of new industries, such as textiles, iron and steel, and chemicals. These industries created new jobs and opportunities for people, but they also led to social and environmental problems.
