Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you draw Pikachu with color:
Materials you will need:
Drawing paper or sketchbook
Pencil
Eraser
Fine-tip markers or colored pencils
Step 1: Start with a basic outline
Begin by lightly sketching a circle for Pikachu’s head. Then, draw two pointed ears on top of the head. Add two curving lines on the lower half of the circle to create Pikachu’s cheeks. Draw a horizontal line across the center of the circle to mark the eye level.
Step 2: Draw Pikachu’s facial features
Below the horizontal line, draw two large oval-shaped eyes. Add smaller circles inside the eyes to represent the pupils. Above the eyes, draw two arched eyebrows. Then, draw a small triangle-shaped nose between the eyes. Finally, draw a smiling mouth centered below the nose, using a curved line.
Step 3: Add Pikachu’s body
From the bottom of the head, draw two curved lines that extend outward and slightly downward to create Pikachu’s cheeks. Connect these lines with a slightly curved line to form Pikachu’s neck and chest. Then, draw a large oval shape below the head to represent Pikachu’s body.
Step 4: Draw Pikachu’s arms and feet
Extend two curved lines from the sides of Pikachu’s body to create the arms. At the ends of the arms, draw two rounded shapes for Pikachu’s hands. For the feet, draw two curved lines extending down from the bottom of the body, and then add small oval shapes at the ends to represent Pikachu’s feet.
Step 5: Add Pikachu’s tail and details
Draw Pikachu’s tail by extending a long, curved line from the back of the body. Add zigzag lines along the tail to indicate the stripes. You can also add small curved lines on the cheeks to show the rosy coloration.
Step 6: Coloring
Now comes the fun part—coloring Pikachu! Pikachu is known for its yellow fur, so use a yellow marker or colored pencil to fill in the body. Use a slightly lighter shade of yellow for the cheeks and the area around the eyes. Color the inside of the ears with a pink or light brown shade.
For the facial features, use a black marker or colored pencil to color in the eyes, eyebrows, and mouth. Add a touch of white to the pupils to make them appear shiny.
Finally, color the stripes on Pikachu’s tail with a darker shade of yellow or brown. You can also add some shading to give Pikachu a more three-dimensional appearance.
