    If the ratio of jasmines to roses in a flower basket is 3:7

    If number of roses= 21 , then what is the number of jasmines?

    Let the total flowers in a basket be X.
    Jasmine: Roses is 3:7
    Number of roses = 21
    jasmine = 3/10 of x and roses =7/10 of x ……..(equation1)
    we know, number of roses, i.e. = 7/10 of x = 21
    therefore,
    X = 21*10/7
    X= 30
    Putting the value of X in equation 1
    Jasmine = 3/10 of 30
    Jasmine = 9
    and
    roses = 7/10 of 30
    Roses = 21.
