Benefits:
Solar energy is free from pollution and causes it to emit greenhouse gases after installation
Decreased dependence on foreign oil and fossil fuels
Fresh renewable energy is available every day of the year, even cloudy days produce some energy
Return on investment as opposed to paying off state debt
There is almost no storage like solar panels that last more than 30 years
It creates jobs through manufacturers of solar panels, solar panels, etc. and then helps the economy
The excess energy can be sold back to the energy company once the grid is installed
The ability to stay free of the grid if all the energy produced provides enough for the home / building
It can be installed almost anywhere; from field to building
Use batteries to store extra energy for the night
Solar power can be used to heat water, power houses and construction, and even electric vehicles
It is safer than traditional electricity
Efficiency is always improving so the same amount of sunlight available today will work better tomorrow
Advanced aesthetics make solar solar more efficient compared to older models; i.e. printing, flexibility, solar shingles, etc.
Grants, tax incentives, and discount programs are available to help with initial costs
No trenching is required because the sun can approach or in the installation area
Disadvantages:
High initial cost of goods and installations and long ROI (however, with a reduction in solar costs over the past 10 years, the sun becomes a possible daily cost)
It needs a lot of space as the efficiency is not yet 100% yet
There is no solar power at night so there is a need for a large battery bank
Some people think they are bad (I’m not one of those!)
DC power-efficient devices are more expensive
Depending on the location the size of the solar panels varies in the same power output
Cloudy days do not produce much energy
Solar panels are not produced in large quantities due to a lack of material and technology to reduce the cost enough to be more expensive (this is starting to change)
Solar cars do not have the same speed and power as conventional electric cars (and this is starting to change)
Low solar production in the winter months
