Mangoes are produced by the tropical tree “Mangifera Indica” which is assumed to have originated from the region between Northwestern Myanmar, Bangladesh, and Northeastern India. There are many cultivars of mangoes worldwide, because of which they vary in size, color, shape, and sweetness. Mango is the national fruit of India and Pakistan. The mango tree is the national tree of Bangladesh.

Mango trees grow up to 30-40 meters and have a radius of 10-15 meters. The leaves of this tree are evergreen. When the leaves are young, they are orange-pink and when mature, they transform to dark green.

There are several mango cultivars. In mango farms, many cultivars are often grown in order to enhance pollination. Many yearned cultivars are monoembryonic and must be reproduced by either the method of grafting or they do not breed true. A common monoembryonic cultivar is ‘Alphonso’, an important export product. It is acknowledged as “the king of mangoes”.

Mangoes are a nutritious and delightful fruit that can be added to any salad, smoothie, or even a rice dish. People can also enjoy it all on their own. Mangoes are perennials that can be noticed in hot climates that are either humid or dry. In many of these places, this fruit is an important part of people’s diet.

Mango seeds generally germinate in two to four weeks. After that, it takes at least five years for the seeds to grow into mature trees that can produce mangoes. They need a typical kind of climate that is found in tropical and subtropical regions like Florida, California, Hawaii, etc.

Mango trees prefer to grow in soil that is loose and brittle that allows water infiltration and root penetration. Also, they need a temperature range between 70 and 75 degrees Fahrenheit. Also, the soil that is required to grow mango trees should be constantly moist.
