Cloudburst is a sudden, heavy rainfall, usually occurs in mountain regions. It is local in nature and of brief duration. Most of the time cloudbursts occur in connection with thunderstorms. In these storms, there are violent upsurges of air, which at times prevent the condensing raindrops from falling to the ground. A large amount of water accumulates at high levels, and if the upward currents are weakened the whole of these waterfalls at one time.
India has followed these steps to fight against cloudbursts.
1. India has introduced better flood warning systems.
2. Modified homes and businesses to help them withstand floods.
3. Constructed buildings above flood levels.
4. Took great measures in tackling climate change.
5. Increased spending on flood defenses.
6. Give out the order to protect wetlands and introduce plant trees strategically.
