There are many resources that need to be provided for everyone. These are known as public institutions. Examples: health care, sanitation, electricity, public transport, schools, colleges, drinking water, etc.
Another important feature of a public institution is that once it has been provided its benefits can be shared by many people. For example; if a school is established in the area, many children benefit from that school. Similarly, if a road is built through a valley, most people will benefit from it.
The Constitution recognizes that the right to water is part of the Right to Life under Article 21. Therefore, it is the duty of government to provide safe drinking water to all citizens.
The government must ensure universal access to the public.
The government should provide free of charge or access to affordable services.
Private companies may also be interested in providing public facilities. But increasing profits is the main goal of a private company. This will lead to huge costs that can be very costly to select a population. This will defeat the purpose of universal access to society. Therefore, it is usually the government that provides public services.
However, there are many examples of independent players who provide community facilities. For example; The distribution of electricity is in the hands of private companies in New Delhi. In such a case, the government must set appropriate checks and checks to keep the charges against the law.
According to the Urban Water Committee, an urban person needs at least 135 gallons [135 L] of water a day to live a normal life. But a slum dweller receives only 20 gallons [20 L] of water a day.

Water is provided by the Jal Board or Water Board that falls within the city municipality. Water supply is inadequate in many cities. People who live near pumping stations or storage tanks get better water. But people living too far away may not have access to adequate water. Leaking pipes cover the problem.

This makes water more expensive for most people. Only middle and upper class people are in a position to pay the money demanded by the tanker mafia.
Many people dig wells and install water pumps to compensate for the lack of water. Many people use water purifiers to get safe drinking water. But such facilities are not accessible to the poor.
While the situation is comfortable in cities, most villages and towns do not have enough water.
