The gas that is most abundant in the Earth’s atmosphere is nitrogen (N2). Air is made up of 78% of nitrogen and 21% of other gases. It neither has any colour nor any taste or smell. Nitrogen occurs in all organisms, primarily in amino acids ( protein ), in the nucleic acid and in the energy transfer molecule adenosine triphosphate.

Nitrogen is a gas which is colorless, smells less, and is an element. The symbol of nitrogen is N and the atomic number of nitrogen is 7.Nitrogen is the most abundant gas on the surface of the earth. Approximately 78% nitrogen is in the atmosphere of the earth. This gas is in the soil, in the drinking water, and in the air we breathe everyday. It is a very important element for every living creature on the earth. Especially for the plants it is important. And we know that any living can not survive without plants, so let’s learn about the importance of the nitrogen has

Plants need Nitrogen for food and survival:-

Plants are the most important resource for the survival of every living being in the world. And plants can’t not live without food. Plants need the chlorophyll, water , sunlight and CO2, and Nitrogen makes up a large part of the chlorophyll. Nitrogen also makes DNA which plants need for healthy growth. Plants get it from the atmosphere. If plants don’t get proper nitrogen then they will turn into yellow and eventually die.

Humans and animals need nitrogen for growth:-

Humans and animals consume Nitrogen from the air, soil and nitrogen. Nitrogen is the most essential for repairing tissues. Tissues are everywhere in a living body like muscles, nails, skin, hair, blood. It helps to make protein and you need protein for the metabolic process in your body. We have to eat foods which contain protein like eggs, milk, nuts, meat and fish. Nitrogen also helps to produce hemoglobin in the blood which gives oxygen to the blood. And like humas they also need nitrogen for survival, they take it from plants or other animals.

So always keep it in mind that not oxygen is the only gas we need for survival. Nitrogen also has a great value on our lives.
