    Sound is a type of energy that travels in waves through the air or other materials. When we talk or make any noise, we create sound waves that vibrate the air around us. These vibrations reach our ears, and that’s how we hear sounds.

    Now, on the moon, there actually is no air! Unlike Earth, the moon doesn’t have an atmosphere like the air surrounding us. And without air, sound waves can’t travel or vibrate.

    We can think of sound waves like ripples in water. When we throw a stone into a pond, it creates ripples that spread out. But imagine if there was no water in the pond. The stone would still splash, but there would be no ripples because there’s nothing to carry the waves.

    It’s the same with sound on the moon. Since there’s no air or atmosphere to carry the sound waves, they can’t travel and reach our ears. So, even if someone were to shout or make a loud noise on the moon, we wouldn’t be able to hear it.

    However, it’s important to note that astronauts can communicate with each other on the moon, but they use special equipment like radios. These devices don’t need air to transmit sounds from one end to the other.

    So, in a nutshell, we can’t hear sounds on the moon because there’s no air or atmosphere to carry the sound waves from where they are produced to our ears.
