Women Empowerment is made up of two word women and empowerment. To empower means to give power or authority to someone. Therefore, Women Empower means power in the hands of women. It means that women should be given equal opportunities in all fields, regardless of discrimination. In this article on women’s empowerment, we will discuss the need for women’s empowerment and how we can achieve it.
Our society is made up of both men and women. In ancient times, men were considered to be the leading members of the family. They had a job to earn money and were not family decision-makers. Women, on the other hand, had the responsibility of doing household chores and raising children. Therefore, roles were based on gender. There was no involvement of women in decision-making. If we look at the rest of our industry, research shows that women’s issues are focused on her reproductive and physical role or her economic role as an employee. But none of them focus on empowering women.
What Does Empowering Women Mean?
Women Empowerment is a process that empowers women to live a happy and dignified life in society. Women are empowered when they are able to access opportunities in various fields such as education, art, lifestyle, etc., without boundaries and limitations. It includes enhancing their status through education, awareness, literacy and training. It includes the authority to make decisions. When a woman makes a difficult decision, she feels empowered.
Empowerment of women is a critical factor in national development. Suppose, in the family, there is one person leading, and in another family, men and women take the lead, so who will have a better life. The answer is simple, a family where both men and women earn money. Thus, the world in which men and women work together is growing at an alarming rate.
The Need for Women Empowerment
History has it that women were often mistreated. Sati Pratha in ancient times to child abortion in the present situation, women continue to face such violence. Not only that, the worst crimes against women such as rape, acid attack, creative process, honoring murder, domestic violence, etc., are still happening in India.
For all people, 50% of people should have women. However, due to the practice of female genital mutilation, the number of baby girls is declining sharply in India. It also affected gender equality in India. Girls’ literacy rates are very low. Most girls are not even offered a basic education. In addition, they married early and raised children and carried only household chores. They are not allowed to go out and are controlled by their husbands. Women are taken for granted by men as they are considered to be their property. In the workplace, too, women are discriminated against. They are paid less for the same job than their male counterparts.
Steps to Empower Women
Women can be empowered in various ways. It can be done through government and individual programs. At the individual level, we should begin to respect women and begin to give them equal opportunities with men. We should encourage them and encourage them to take up jobs, higher education, business activities, etc. The government has come up with various programs such as Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Yojana, Mahila-E-Haat, Mahila Shakti Kendra, Working Women Hostel, Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, etc. to empower women. Apart from these programs, we as individuals can also empower women by eradicating social ills such as the lobola program, child marriage. These small steps will change the status of women in society and make them feel empowered.

Empowerment is a term which is used frequently in todays time. The meaning of empowerment is to have authority and power to take decision for onself. Women empowerment is very important because now a day woman walk shoulder to shoulder with man. There is no way a woman can bhi differeciated from a man in the aspect of studies,career and labour so women have the right to take there own decision and there should not be any man representing her thoughts or ideas. She is the one who should be taking decision for herself and also the responsibility of the outcome. There has been a traditional mind set that a woman needs either her father or her husband to take decision for her and she has to obey it but now the things and the scenerio have changed a lot. Even in our present cabinate we have women minister like Smriti Irani, Nirmala sitharaman, Harsimrit kaul badal who have been given the opportunity to take decision for the country’s welfare in there recpective departments. Now a days women are educated enough to analyse the situation, face it’s outcome and take responsibility and decision. They should be trusted in this aspect as everyone knows woman are more likely to manage the responsibility and are multi talented.
Everyone above the age of 18 have the right to take there own decisions and whether it is and independent decision or in the influence of some other person. Parents should start teaching there daughters that they are the one who will have to take decision for themselves and teach them what is wrong and write. Parents should make sure that there children specially the daughters start taking decision for an early age and also face it outcomes so that till the time they become independent they now how to think in which situation. It will help them to become more responsible.
