It is due to the phenomenon called refraction of light. When a light passes from one medium to another medium, then the ray of light tends to ‘bend. Hence, the light coming from the Stars enters the Earth’s atmosphere, medium change; hence, the light ray bends. For this reason, stars seem to twinkle in the night sky.
