  Division is a mathematical operation where we split a number into equal parts. The key terms and rules are:

  1. Dividend: The number being divided.
  2. Divisor: The number dividing the dividend.
  3. Quotient: The result of the division, showing how many times the divisor fits into the dividend.
  4. Remainder: The leftover amount when the division is not exact.

  Simplified Rules:

  1. Division by zero is undefined.
  2. Any number divided by one is equal to the original number.
  3. Zero divided by any non-zero number is zero.
  4. Division of zero by any non-zero number is zero.
  5. If the dividend is smaller than the divisor, the quotient is zero, and the dividend is the remainder.
  6. When the dividend is not divisible by the divisor, there is a remainder.
  7. The signs of the dividend and divisor determine the sign of the quotient, and the remainder has the same sign as the dividend.
