  Method 1: Paper Bookmark

  Materials:

  • Cardstock or thick paper
  • Scissors
  • Markers, colored pencils, or crayons
  • Stickers, washi tape, or other decorative items
  • Hole punch (optional)
  • Ribbon or string (optional)

  Steps:

  1. Cut the Paper: Cut the cardstock or thick paper into a rectangular shape. A typical size for a bookmark is about 2 inches by 6 inches.
  2. Decorate: Use markers, colored pencils, or crayons to decorate the bookmark. You can draw pictures, write quotes, or create patterns. Add stickers or washi tape for extra flair.
  3. Optional – Add a Tassel: If you want to add a tassel, use a hole punch to make a hole near the top of the bookmark. Thread a piece of ribbon or string through the hole and tie it in a knot.

  Method 2: Fabric Bookmark

  Materials:

  • Fabric scraps
  • Scissors
  • Fabric glue or a needle and thread
  • Felt (optional)
  • Decorative elements like buttons or embroidery floss (optional)

  Steps:

  1. Cut the Fabric: Cut the fabric into a rectangular shape. You can use felt as the backing for sturdiness.
  2. Assemble: If using felt, glue or sew the fabric onto the felt backing.
  3. Decorate: Add buttons, embroidery, or other decorative elements to personalize your bookmark.
