Natural Resources & Their Characteristics
Natural resources are resources that exist on the Earth. without the intervention of humans.
These are resources that are found in the environment and developed without human involvement. Natural resources include air, sunlight, water, soil, stone, plants, animals, and fossil fuels, to name a few.
Natural resources are naturally occurring items or supplies extracted from the earth that are beneficial to man or could be beneficial under possible technological, economic, or social circumstances, such as food, building and clothing materials, fertilisers, metals, water, and geothermal power. Natural resources have been the domain of the natural sciences for a long time.

The world is becoming more advanced and modern day by day, and we start not paying attention to the environment. We are using natural resources so uncontrollably that we forget that these resources are non-renewable. These resources consist of land, rocks, forests, water, fossil fuel, animals, minerals, sunlight, and air. We get a huge number of things from these resources. We need to reduce the waste of these resources to protect humans and the environment of Earth. It will also secure our future generations. There are various ways of conserving these resources.
Conserve water:- We can not survive a single day without water. It is a very important natural resource, but we are forgetting that it is not abundant. The world is dealing with the water crisis in many countries. We can change it by changing our daily habits of misusing water. Don’t waste water while brushing, don’t take long showers, don’t overwater your garden. Try some dry methods of cleaning instead of water, like wiping your cars with clothes instead of washing them daily, and use a mop to clean the floor instead of employing a pipe, which wastes an excessive amount of water.
Save electricity:- A huge amount of our energy is produced by burning fossil fuels. Thus, you can realise that once we start saving energy, it will naturally save our fossil fuels. It will also help to scale back pollution. We can walk more or cycle than use a bike or car. We can use public transport more than private transport. Don’t keep on light or fan on if you are not there. Replace your old appliances with new ones, as old ones can use more electricity.
Reuse and Recycle:- Always try to reduce, reuse, and recycle your old products or stuff. You can use e-books instead of buying hardcovers. Try to adopt a paperless lifestyle and use technology to store soft copies of receipts, bills, chats, and more. Most importantly, stop using plastic products. Use clothes or paper bags instead of plastic bags.
