According to the Forest Survey of India (FSI), there are around 4,975 square kilometers of mangrove cover in the country. These mangrove forests are distributed along the coastal regions of states such as West Bengal, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa, and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
