Are Social Media Hindering Creativity?
WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat are killing creativity. Yes or No? Explain.
Are Social Media Hindering Creativity
There are different people with different opinions, and each of their opinions makes sense as each of them has valued points that can explain the reason for their opinion.
If I say yes, that WhatsApp, Instagram Facebook, Snapchat are killing the creativity level of a person and the reason behind that the people who can be more creative in the real life are spending more time watching the videos, chatting and clicking pictures, etc and they are always on their phone showing off their lifestyles to the world. Social media is more important for them than the real world, how many likes they got on the picture, what are the comments, how many views got, number of followers and competition, comparison these are all the things that a person experience on social media. But they can spend their day being creative in their life.
If I say that, no WhatsApp, Facebook Instagram and Snapchat all things are helping the artistic and talented people to present their talent and finding the people who respect their talent is also true because we can see online, that there are so many dance video and singing video painting videos, showing their makeup art and their drawing, sketches, etc. They can connect to their old friends and they are gaining love, respect, and attention that they deserve for their talent that they don’t get in real life, or they are just getting the spotlight from the social media platforms
Both opinions are correct, depending on the person. It depends on what they are doing on social media. Is that productive, or are they just using social media to relax and explore? It is also important to note that the excessive use of anything is harmful, and not utilising your resources is also not good. So you should balance out everything in your life.

Nowadays social media is very much popular among all the age groups and people spend hours in them, be it a school going child or a working parent or a retired grand-parent everyone find themselves comfortable in the virtual world but with due course of time it has become a kind of addiction and is mostly killing a lot of time and all of the creativity from all the people out there. Nowadays, we prefer chatting with some unknown people rather than talking or spending time with our friends and family physically. Rather than perusing our hobbies such as reading books, painting, dancing, singing, or doing any other extra-curricular activities, we prefer making reels or being live on social media platforms. With more and more use of social media platforms, we human beings are also tending to lose patience to do minute physical work. This is making us blunt and is destroying our creativity every single moment. We lack concentration and become anxious with the smallest of issues nowadays.
It’s high time for us to fix a time for using social media, or soon we will be technological robots with no extra creativity. For the sake of our creativity, we need to mend our ways and find physically productive ways to keep ourselves engaged.
