Addition: Addition is the summation of two or more values and numbers. It is one of the basic mathematical operations that is used to add two or more numbers. It is denoted by the “+” plus sign.
For example:
2+3=5
3+5+8=16
Subtraction: Subtraction is the inverse of addition. In subtraction, we need to subtract one number from the other number. One value is reduced from the other value to get the required value. It is denoted by the “-” minus sign.
For example:
3-2=1
5-7=-2
Difference between Addition and subtraction:
1. In addition we increase the value of the sum of the number whereas in subtraction we decrease the value of the number.
2. In addition we will never get a negative result whereas in subtraction we can get a negative result.
3. When we add we get a larger result. When we subtract we get a smaller result.
