APJ ABDUL KALAM
Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam (APJ Abdul Kalam), who doesn’t know this name, was born on 15th October in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu. He is known for his selfless works which he did for India. He is regarded as one of the most brilliant scientists of the twenty-first century. Furthermore, he becomes India’s 11th president and serves his country.
His contribution to society can’t be measured in any terms. He contributed as a scientist and as a president of our country, moreover, his contribution to the ISRO (Indian Space Research Organization) is beyond words. He was in charge of many initiatives that benefited society, and he was also involved in the construction of the Agni and Prithvi rockets. Due to his involvement in Nuclear power in India, he was called as ” Missile Man of India”. The government honored him with the highest civilian award for his service to the region.
His family’s financial situation was no so good at his early age, so he began financially helping them from an early age. Yet he never stopped learning. He finished his studies and graduated while still supporting his family. Among all, he was a participant in the 1998 nuclear test at Pokhran.
In 2002, the great missile man was elected as the President of India. During his administration, the army and the government reached several successes that greatly benefited the country. He was known as the “people’s president” because he represented the country with an open heart. At the end of his presidentship period, he was not satisfied with the work done by him, so he wanted to become the president once again for the second time but later on decided to take back his name.
He had a great love for students, so he frequently used to interact with them, moreover, after his presidentship, he started teaching students. He worked with many of India’s most respected and well-known institutions all over the world. Above all, he believes that the country’s youth are extremely talented but cannot demonstrate their merit, which is why he has helped them in all of their good deeds.
Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam was honored and awarded not only by Indian organizations and committees but also by several foreign organizations and committees during his lifetime.
He had a great love for books, he used to read a lot. Also, he wrote many masterpieces but one of his works ”India 2020” was a remarkable work, in which he gave an action plan to make India a superpower. Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam was a straightforward and honest man. He was so preoccupied with his job that he would get up early in the morning and work until late at night.
In 2015, he died of sudden cardiac arrest while giving a lecture to students in Shillong. He was a brilliant physicist and a pioneer engineer who dedicated his life to the country and died while doing so. The man had the vision to turn India into a great nation. And, according to him, the youth are the country’s true riches, so we must empower and encourage them.
