Air Pollution in Environment

What is air pollution?

Air Pollution in Environment

Air pollution:-

In the past, we used to breathe in healthy air. But because of the development and construction of poisonous gases in the environment, the air is becoming more and more toxic day by day. Some gases are the cause of many dangerous diseases. The rapid increase of human activities, like the burning of fossil fuels, deforestation, is the main cause of air pollution. The air pollution causes burning of fossil fuel and firewood, volcanic eruptions, forest fires, smoke released from factories, bombardment, asteroids, carbon dioxide, and many more. There are also some other air pollutants like industrial waste, agricultural waste, thermal nuclear plants, etc. Air pollution is the main cause of the greenhouse effect, and air pollution produces greenhouse gases. Greenhouse gases increase temperature, which is the main cause of global warming. Most harmful UV rays can easily penetrate the surface of the Earth through greenhouse gases. This pollution can also affect human health it causing many skin and other diseases in the human body, Pollution causes asthma, bronchitis. It can badly affect our lungs, damage cells in the respiratory system. But there are also ways of preventing air pollution, We can improve the quality of air by planting trees; trees are the only way of producing Oxygen. Oxygen can reduce the toxicity in the air. The policy for industries related to the filtering of gases should be increased. So we have to minimize the toxins released from factories. We can use eco-friendly fuels rather than toxic fuels. LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas), CNG (Compressed Natural Gas), and bio-gas are some eco-friendly fuels. If we can reduce the amount of harmful toxic gases in the air, it will heal the environment.

Earlier, the air that we used to breathe was fresh and pure, but these days that air has been contaminated by toxic pollutants. And this is what air pollution is. Due to the increase in factories and industrialization, the concentration of poisonous gases has increased in the atmosphere. In addition to this, the burning of fossil fuels and deforestation also adds to the toxic substances in the air.

There are many causes of air pollution. The burning of fossil fuels, smoke released from factories, volcanic eruptions, forest fires, CFCs, and carbon oxides are all major reasons behind our air getting contaminated. Apart from these reasons, industrial waste, agricultural waste have also added up to air pollution.

The fossil fuels that are burned in the environment produce oxides of carbon that are harmful to the environment. Earlier, there used to be many trees that man has cut down now for their selfish reasons. People cut down trees for building factories, houses, and using the land for different reasons. Trees filter the air that we breathe. Now, since the number of trees has been reduced to a larger extent, the filtering process does not take place as often. Also, for the past few years, fossil fuels have been burned at a higher pace, which has increased the number of pollutants in the air.

As responsible citizens, we should avoid doing things that increase air pollution. We should indulge in reforestation. Planting more trees would result in a decrease in air pollution. Also, after the installation of industries, the gases that are sent out by the factories should be refined, which would help minimize the toxic gases in the atmosphere. We can also start using eco-friendly fuels like CNG, LPG, etc. In this way, the harmful toxic gases would be minimized in the atmosphere.
