  A long time ago, in the year 1857, many people in India wanted their country to be free. They didn’t like the way it was ruled. So, like in an exciting adventure, they all came together to stand up for India’s freedom. This special event is called the “First War of Indian Independence.” It’s like the first chapter in the big story of how India became a free and wonderful country!
