Horrific Amphan Cyclone

Amphan Cyclone:-

The super cyclone hit West Bengal with the highest speed of 180-220km/h in the landslide area in 2020. “Amphan cyclone” is named Thailand. This was the second biggest cyclone in West Bengal after Cyclone Fani. This super cyclone formed in India after 1999. This cyclone damaged the coastal areas of Digha, 24 Pajama, Kolkata, and the district of West Bengal. It includes heavy rainfall and flooding. So many people became homeless because of the cyclone. So many trees and electric poles were wiped out by it. The official report stated that 96 people died due to this cyclone. Approximately 6 lakhs people were highly affected by the cyclone. Some of their cultivated land or crops are flooded. Kolkata’s normal life takes five to six days to restore. The whole state was devastated by the storm. It started raining in the early evening of May 19. Strong winds have been becoming frequent since midnight. It was considerably cooler during the night. Most of us were unaware of the destruction that was about to begin the next day because of the spinning storm over the northeastern part of the Bay of Bengal. Many people live without electricity for several days during the calamity. So many people lost their homes because of this. The government gave compensation to the families and gave their condolences to the families who lost their houses.
